Sophie and Ed's wedding in Brecon, Wales

For the wedding of Sophie & Ed we journey into Wales to their wedding day at the historic Llangoed Hall set within the picturesque landscape of Brecon. The wedding morning approached, a very warm summers day. Within the grand walls of this historic venue, now a hub of activity. Sophie the bride-to-be prepared in her room, her bridal party elegantly multi-tasking make-up, hair, prosecco & conversation - their mission to keep Sophie calm and enjoying herself ready for the wedding ceremony fast approaching.

Meanwhile Ed the groom, prepared with his groomsmen, likewise, elegantly multi-tasking, speech-perfecting, suit-sharpening, rugby & gin tasting.

As the time for the ceremony approached, the bridal party & kids got ready with precision, using the sort of magic only mums know how. In a flurry of ironing, dress tying & makeup checks, they were ready to go. All looking beautiful & relaxed.

The ceremony room, complete with their family & guests, ready to receive the bridal party, Sophie and her father.

As Sophie entered, holding her baby girl in her arms, with her father following closely the whole room felt it, I certainly did, so I’ve no idea what this moment was like for the groom Ed. So beautiful. With the sunshine streaming in through the windows, all eyes on Sophie, Ed & their baby girl, it was a really very personalised ceremony. The registrant, an extremely light-hearted lady made it so much fun for everyone. I perched happily on the window ledge at the front where I could see everyone enjoying these very special moments.

This was the spirit of the whole day, with people that had travelled from all over the world to be with this lovely couple to celebrate their day.

The speeches, full of emotion, laughter & tears, I could have looked through my camera to anyone in that room and seen how much they cared on their faces and in their eyes. Followed by a idyllic warm summers evening with everyone chatting and playing in the gardens.

With all the emotion of the day, roasting hot sunshine and a significant amount of celebratory wine, I wondered what the wedding party would be like, could the energy of the day be sustained? I wondered no more….from the first dance, the party started…
